The Red Wing 2268 Engineer boot has split at the top of the shaft that allowed the engineer to bend during work. The Red Wing 2268 first appeared in the Red Wing catalog of 1941 as style number 919. The shoe was presented as the ideal boot for engineers as well as truck drivers.
