Loa are the spirits of Voodoo. They are the intermediaries between the spirit world and humanity. They are not simply prayed to, they are served. Every loa has his or her own unique Veve (symbol). These are used when inviting the loa to temporarily take possession of a human body to communicate. In the middle is the Veve of Baron Samedi.
