The Thunderbird design, launched in 2016, is Ginew’s interpretation of an Ojibwe tribal symbol. “Versions of this symbol are everywhere around the reservation. When I was a kid, the Thunderbird icon was on cars, canoes, sides of barns and homes. It was even carved into logs I’d discover as I walked deep into the woods.” – Erik Brodt, Ginew’s co-founder.
